Commercial Manager / Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor
Salary: Up to €80,000
Locations: Castlewellan, Banbridge & Belfast
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Manager / Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team and take responsibility for the commercial management of electrical packages across major construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical QS looking to take the next step in their career, or an established Commercial Manager with a strong electrical/MEP background.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual performance of electrical packages from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring projects remain commercially controlled while identifying opportunities to maximise profitability.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing all commercial and contractual aspects of electrical packages
- Preparing, submitting and negotiating applications for payment
- Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts and monthly CVRs
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Preparing tender documentation and leading subcontractor procurement
- Managing subcontractor valuations, payments and final accounts
- Monitoring labour, material, plant and subcontract costs
- Managing budgets, expenditure and change control
- Identifying, valuing and negotiating variations
- Preparing and managing contractual claims and compensation events
- Supporting cash flow forecasting and financial reporting
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Managing and resolving commercial disputes where required
- Working closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders
- Providing leadership and mentoring to junior commercial staff

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- 7–10+ years' experience within an Electrical QS / Commercial role
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong electrical/MEP construction experience
- Experience across sectors such as Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Industrial or Commercial
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT and/or FIDIC contracts
- Proven experience with CVRs, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting
- Strong subcontract procurement and management experience
- Excellent understanding of variations, claims and change management
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities
- The ability to work independently while also leading and mentoring others

The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, contractually strong and confident in managing the full commercial lifecycle of electrical packages.
You'll have a strong understanding of how to protect project margin, manage risk, control costs and maximise commercial opportunities while building effective relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
