The Opportunity
Our Commercial Operations team is continuing to grow, and we’re keen to connect with commercially astute, analytically driven professionals who can turn data into insight and help us understand how we perform commercially.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from Commercial Modellers, Commercial Analysts, Pricing Specialists and Pricing Analysts with experience in engineering consultancy, construction, infrastructure, professional services or other project-based environments.
About The Opportunity
We’re looking for people who enjoy getting behind the numbers analysing bids, pricing, commercial performance and business data to understand what we submitted, why we submitted it, how we performed and what we can learn from it.
You’ll use data and commercial insight to help our teams make better-informed decisions, identify trends and opportunities, and continually improve how we approach future bids and opportunities.
Working closely with operational leaders, bid teams, finance, business development and project delivery teams, you could play a key role in analysing bid and commercial data, developing pricing and financial models, and turning complex information into clear, actionable insight.
This could include looking at bid performance, pricing trends, win/loss data, margins, assumptions, market positioning and commercial outcomes, helping us identify patterns and understand where we can improve.
You’ll also have the opportunity to help strengthen our commercial capability by developing tools, dashboards, reporting and consistent approaches that enable teams across the business to make more data-driven commercial decisions.
What You Could Be Doing
Depending on your experience and the opportunity, your role could include:
- Developing and maintaining commercial, financial and pricing models to support bids, opportunities and strategic decision-making.
- Analysing historical bid and pricing data to understand performance, trends and commercial outcomes.
- Reviewing how we price and submit bids, identifying patterns, variances, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Analysing win/loss performance and developing meaningful commercial insights from bid debriefs and market feedback.
- Supporting bid teams with pricing strategies, profitability assessments, scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
- Evaluating commercial scenarios and helping teams understand the potential financial impact of different approaches.
- Turning complex financial, operational and bid data into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Maintaining commercial and market databases, capturing detailed bid information, outcomes and feedback to support future decision-making.
- Developing dashboards, reporting tools and visualisations that make commercial performance easier to understand and act upon.
- Identifying opportunities to improve commercial processes, reporting, modelling and ways of working.
- Developing consistent modelling tools, templates and methodologies that can be used across the business.
- Working collaboratively with Finance, Commercial, Business Development, Bid and operational teams to strengthen commercial decision-making.
- Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of commercial capability across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your insight could influence everything from how we price future opportunities and assess commercial risk, to how we measure bid performance and identify opportunities for improved profitability and sustainable growth.
