Commercial Officer
£45,000-£55,000 | Portsmouth / Hybrid
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Officer to join a growing technology business delivering innovative training and simulation solutions to customers operating in demanding environments.
The business develops advanced, technology-led solutions designed to help organisations train more safely, efficiently and effectively. With a growing portfolio of programmes and customers, this is an opportunity to join a commercially focused team and play a key role across the full contract lifecycle.
The Role
You'll support a broad range of commercial activity across contracts, bids, suppliers and the wider supply chain. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you'll help manage contractual risk, support business development and ensure strong commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day commercial activities across head contracts, subcontracts and supplier agreements.
- Support contract reviews, negotiations, amendments and change control.
- Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, schedules and reporting requirements.
- Maintain strong commercial governance and ensure compliance with internal processes.
- Support bids, tenders and commercial proposals.
- Work closely with legal, customer, finance and supply-chain teams.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.
- Support supplier and subcontractor management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across commercial processes and ways of working.

About You
You'll have 3-6 years of relevant commercial experience, ideally with a balanced mix of pre- and post-contract activity.
Experience within UK MOD procurement would be highly desirable, including exposure to:

You'll be commercially astute, confident negotiating contracts and comfortable working with a range of stakeholders. You'll take ownership, identify risks early and be able to balance commercial priorities with practical business requirements.
