Commercial Operations Manager
Southampton
£50,000–£60,000 + Benefits
Hours: 8:30–5:30 (1 hour unpaid lunch)
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays

A growing manufacturing business is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to lead all commercial, administrative and back-office functions. This role sits at the heart of the operation — driving efficiency, improving processes, strengthening compliance and supporting long-term commercial growth.

You’ll work closely with the Manufacturing Operations Manager to ensure the business runs smoothly from enquiry to delivery, while building a stronger sales function and enhancing customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales, customer service and back-office teams
  • Drive commercial planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Recruit, train and mentor the sales team
  • Oversee BRCGS Food Contact Packaging compliance
  • Manage Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations
  • Support H&S systems alongside operations
  • Improve internal workflows and commercial processes
  • Strengthen customer relationships and order management

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong commercial operations or sales operations leadership
  • Background in manufacturing, packaging, plastics or FMCG
  • Knowledge of BRCGS Food Contact Packaging accreditation
  • Understanding of EPR and compliance requirements
  • Ability to streamline processes and drive commercial performance
  • Confident leadership across multi-disciplinary teams
