Commercial Operations Manager
Southampton
£50,000–£60,000 + Benefits
Hours: 8:30–5:30 (1 hour unpaid lunch)
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
A growing manufacturing business is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to lead all commercial, administrative and back-office functions. This role sits at the heart of the operation — driving efficiency, improving processes, strengthening compliance and supporting long-term commercial growth.
You’ll work closely with the Manufacturing Operations Manager to ensure the business runs smoothly from enquiry to delivery, while building a stronger sales function and enhancing customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead sales, customer service and back-office teams
- Drive commercial planning, forecasting and reporting
- Recruit, train and mentor the sales team
- Oversee BRCGS Food Contact Packaging compliance
- Manage Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations
- Support H&S systems alongside operations
- Improve internal workflows and commercial processes
- Strengthen customer relationships and order management

What You’ll Bring:
- Strong commercial operations or sales operations leadership
- Background in manufacturing, packaging, plastics or FMCG
- Knowledge of BRCGS Food Contact Packaging accreditation
- Understanding of EPR and compliance requirements
- Ability to streamline processes and drive commercial performance
- Confident leadership across multi-disciplinary teams
