Job Purpose and Impact

This position is in Cargill’s UK animal nutrition and health business (ANH), where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team research, innovates, and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers. Our mission is to help farmers achieve optimal animal health and performance through sustainable practices. The UK & Ireland business is a leading provider of animal nutrition solutions, specialized in the development and production of premixes, concentrates, additives, and specialties, such as starter feeds for swine and poultry and calf milk replacers. We focus on delivering core nutritional solutions to our clients to ensure we deliver optimum growth and have healthy animals produced sustainably for the future.

As a Commercial Poultry Nutritionist, you will manage key accounts within the poultry production sector, including feed mills and poultry producers. Your focus will be on building trusted partnerships, delivering nutritional expertise, and driving business growth through applying innovative solutions.

Key Accountabilities

Technical Sales (80%)

Your primary focus is driving growth through poultry nutrition expertise and strong customer partnerships. As a trusted advisor, you will help customers improve animal performance and achieve business success.

  • Trusted Advisor Relationships: Build long-term partnerships with key customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored nutritional solutions that deliver measurable results.
  • Nutritional Expertise: Apply poultry nutrition knowledge across all life stages and translate science into practical solutions that improve health, growth, and efficiency.
  • Customer & Business Understanding: Develop a strong understanding of customer operations, business drivers, and strategic objectives.
  • Account Planning & Forecasting: Create account plans, identify growth opportunities, monitor progress, and provide market and sales forecasts.
  • Sales Growth: Achieve volume, market share, and profitability targets by leveraging structured sales plans and nutritional technologies.
  • Continuous Development: Stay current with industry trends and strengthen technical and advisory capabilities.
  • Technical Collaboration: Partner with nutritionists and technical specialists to deliver high-value customer support.
  • Market Insight & Innovation: Monitor customer needs, competitor activity, and industry developments to maintain leadership in broiler and layer nutrition solutions.

Leadership & Collaboration (20%)

You will help align internal capabilities with customer needs while supporting strategic initiatives that strengthen market position and customer success.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with technical, marketing, supply chain, and R&D teams to deliver integrated customer solutions and drive innovation.
  • Strategic Customer Engagement: Tailor approaches to diverse customer segments and develop account plans that balance short-term wins with long-term growth.
  • Leveraging Global Expertise: Utilize Cargill's global knowledge, tools, and technologies to bring best-in-class solutions to the UK market.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to team success by sharing insights, supporting colleagues, and enhancing training and customer materials.
  • Market Intelligence: Track industry trends, regulations, and competitive activity to help shape strategy and maintain relevance.
  • Customer-Centric Innovation: Identify unmet customer needs and collaborate on new solutions and value-added services.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in fluent English.
  • Demonstrated success in Technical Sales/ Customer Nutritionist positions in the UK Poultry Industry.
  • Strong experience of technically supporting a range of customers at different levels and able to articulate new products, concepts, and knowledge.
  • Commercial acumen to grow existing accounts and support on the development of new accounts.
  • Able to work cross-functionally across a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites across the UK as required and to internal Cargill locations.
