Commercial Pricing Analyst at TMS Global

As a Commercial Pricing Analyst at TMS Global, part of DS Smith, you'll play a key role in supporting profitable growth across a diverse international customer portfolio. Working with stakeholders across EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and North America, you'll transform complex commercial data into actionable insights, influence pricing strategy, and support critical decision-making that drives business performance and long-term customer value.

Working closely with Sales, Procurement, and Commercial Finance teams, you'll develop benchmarking models and provide commercial analysis to support contract renewals, RFP activity, raw material indexation, and strategic pricing decisions across our global business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Strategy & Planning

    • Analyse customer and supplier pricing data to provide actionable insights and support informed commercial decision making.
    • Ensure pricing decisions align with margin objectives, customer agreements, and overall commercial strategy.
    • Monitor raw material indices and market trends, providing insight and recommendations on potential pricing impacts.
    • Identify opportunities to improve pricing performance, operational efficiency, and commercial effectiveness.
  • Process & Systems Optimization

    • Drive automation initiatives and process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across commercial operations.
    • Manage the implementation of contract events within internal systems, including contract anniversaries and raw material index (RMI) adjustments.
    • Develop, enhance, and maintain pricing models, ensuring effective deployment and adoption across the business.

  • Internal Support & Governance
    • Partner with implementation and account teams on contract execution, onboarding, and pricing-related issue resolution.
    • Provide data management, pricing administration, and commercial policy support to sales and finance teams.
    • Equip Operations and Shared Service teams with tools and guidance to ensure accurate product pricing.
    • Ensure adherence to internal controls and commercial governance processes, reporting any identified risks to senior management.

About You

This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced, matrix environment and enjoys collaborating across teams and geographies. You’ll bring strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • A background in the Packaging industry, with Print experience is essential.
  • Proven experience within pricing and commercial analytics.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining pricing models and analytical tools.
  • Strong understanding of commercial pricing methodologies, supply chain dynamics, and operational delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering across commercial, finance, and operational teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including modelling and data analysis.
  • Experience using Power BI or similar visualisation tools would be advantageous.
