Looking for a property management role where you can make decisions, drive change and actually see the results of your work?

Brierley J have been retained by a highly successful, privately owned property investment business with a portfolio worth approximately £200 million and ambitious plans for further growth.

Established in 1990, the business has built an impressive and diverse portfolio spanning industrial, open storage, retail, leisure, student accommodation and mixed-use developments.

Following a recent refinancing, the business is in a strong position to continue investing and expanding its portfolio across the North East and beyond.

And that's where you come in.

This isn't a role where you'll simply manage properties and follow established processes. It's an opportunity to take real ownership, challenge how things are done and play an important part in shaping the future of an expanding property portfolio.

The Opportunity

Working within a close-knit, commercially driven team, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a varied commercial portfolio, with a particular focus on industrial and open storage assets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll have the autonomy to make things happen, whether that's improving property standards, driving efficiencies, managing service charge budgets or finding smarter ways to maintain and manage assets.

A key part of the role will be moving the business towards a more proactive approach to property management, identifying improvements before issues arise rather than simply reacting to them.

You'll also work closely with the wider asset management, finance and facilities management teams, giving you exposure beyond traditional property management.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally bring:

  • Strong commercial property management experience, ideally including industrial assets.
  • A solid understanding of service charges, property maintenance and statutory compliance.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, contractors and stakeholder relationships.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with a genuine interest in improving how properties are managed.
  • The confidence to work independently while being part of a collaborative team.
