Commercial Property Paralegal

Aston Bond Law Firm is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Commercial Property Paralegal to join our Real Estate team.

Working directly with the Head of Real Estate, you will play an important role in supporting a busy commercial property department, with direct client contact and a varied caseload. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and detail-focused, with the ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines and manage tasks efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing files from opening through to completion and closure
  • Obtaining title documents and submitting searches
  • Preparing SDLT forms, completion statements and invoices
  • Preparing Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions
  • Drafting basic correspondence and client forms
  • Preparing first drafts of contracts, leases and transfer deeds under fee earner guidance
  • Producing replies to Commercial Property Standard Enquiries
  • Dealing with pre-completion requisitions and regular chasers
  • Managing client enquiries, appointments and general calls
  • Assisting with billing, accounts and file closure
  • Maintaining training and development records and participating in supervision and appraisal
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative, marketing, social and charitable activities

About you:

  • 2–3 years’ experience within a commercial property department
  • Minimum 2:1 degree
  • Ideally a Commendation or higher in the LPC
  • Experience using the Land Registry portal and SDLT Online
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Ability to work effectively and promptly to deadlines
