Commercial Property Legal Secretary

We’re working with a leading UK law firm with over 200 years of heritage, who are looking to recruit an experienced and organised Legal Secretary to join their Commercial Property team in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal secretary who enjoys working closely with fee earners and wants to become an integral part of a friendly, established Commercial Property team.

The Role

Working alongside the Commercial Property team, you’ll provide dedicated secretarial and administrative support to fee earners, helping to ensure documents, client matters and day-to-day administration are managed accurately and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, formatting and managing legal documentation
  • Transcribing and proofreading letters, emails and other correspondence
  • Audio typing
  • Scanning, paginating and photocopying documents
  • Opening new client files and completing ID checks
  • Preparing client care letters and associated documentation
  • Maintaining accurate electronic files and document management systems
  • Providing general administrative and secretarial support to the Commercial Property team
  • Supporting fee earners with their day-to-day requirements.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced as a Legal Secretary, Legal Administrator or in a similar legal support role
  • Ideally experienced within Commercial Property, although strong legal secretarial experience from another practice area will be considered
  • Confident working with and formatting legal documentation
  • Experienced in document management, including numbering and amending documents
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
  • A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively
  • Confident with audio typing and has strong typing skills
  • Professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated, proactive and committed to learning and developing
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and document management systems
