As a Commercial Quantity Surveyor Graduate, you'll gain hands-on experience across a range of commercial activities and develop an understanding of how large infrastructure projects are managed from a commercial perspective. - Assisting with contract administration and management activities.
- Preparing reports, presentations and project updates.
- Working with suppliers and internal teams to gather information and support decision-making.
- Learning how commercial teams manage contracts throughout their lifecycle.
Throughout the programme, you'll develop an understanding of commercial management, quantity surveying, contracts and supplier relationships. You'll build strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills while gaining experience in a major infrastructure business. This role provides an excellent foundation for a long-term career in commercial management and quantity surveying.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A standout candidate will have a genuine interest in commercial management and quantity surveying, combined with strong analytical skills and a desire to build long-term expertise in the field. You'll enjoy working with data, contracts and people, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
We celebrate the different experiences our colleagues bring to our organisation and strongly encourage applicants of all backgrounds to apply.
What you'll need
You'll hold, or be on track to achieve, a degree in a relevant subject. Suitable degree disciplines include:
- Quantity Surveying
- Commercial Management
- Contract Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Or a closely related discipline

- Analysing information and presenting findings clearly.
- Solving problems using data or evidence.
- Managing projects and competing priorities.
- Working collaboratively to achieve a shared goal.
- Using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to organise, analyse or present information.
Work experience, placements or internships in a commercial environment would be beneficial, but they're not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm to learn, your attention to detail and your interest in developing a career within commercial management and quantity surveying.
A good application will include a cover letter to help us understand why you're a great fit for the role. Be sure to include any other relevant experience or university modules.
