Your Role
As a Commercial Sales Apprentice at News Broadcasting, you will be an integral part of our dynamic sales team. This role is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the sales process within the media industry, from idea generation, prospecting and client engagement to closing deals, campaign delivery and maintaining long-term relationships. Working across industry leading brands, talkSPORT, Virgin Radio, Times Radio and Talk across our broadcast, social and digital output.
Being an Apprentice at News Broadcasting
During your time with us, you will earn above the national living wage while receiving comprehensive, hands-on training. You’ll work 4 days a week with News UK and spend 1 day studying toward a fully funded Sales Executive Level 4 qualification. Along with mentorship from top industry professionals, we will provide any tailored support you need to reach your full potential.
Day to Day
- Assist the commercial sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Support the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
- Prepare sales presentations, campaign proposals, and contracts.
- Maintain and update client databases and sales records.
- Work on campaign delivery with clients and media agencies.
- Conduct sales calls and meetings with external clients.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and networking events.
- Gain hands-on operational experience in inventory trafficking and project management workflows.
