Commercial Sales Engineer

We are seeking a commercially focused Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who can combine technical knowledge with a passion for sales and customer relationship management.

You will work closely with customers & Sales Office Manager to understand their technical and commercial requirements, recommend appropriate solutions and support opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award. The role will be instrumental in developing existing accounts, securing new business and contributing to the company’s continued growth.

The Role:

  • Prepare accurate technical quotations, commercial proposals, and tender submissions.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contracts while protecting profit margins.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure customer requirements can be achieved.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales activity records within the CRM system.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to support product development and innovation.
  • Support the achievement of individual and company sales targets.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience in technical, engineering, or industrial sales.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and products.
  • Experience within the valve, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, or manufacturing sectors would be advantageous.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience preparing quotations and negotiating terms.
  • Experience using CRM and related business systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities.
