Commercial Sales Finance Manager

Location: London – Hybrid

Salary: Competitive

About the Client

This is a superb opportunity for a progressive commercially orientated accountant to join this large and well-established FMCG organisation. With a significant UK presence and a workforce of several thousand employees, this is a genuine opportunity to develop your career.

A commercially focused Finance Manager position partnering closely with Sales and Marketing. You will provide financial insight, challenge and guidance to support commercial decision-making, improve profitability and help the organisation deliver against its strategic and financial objectives.

You will also manage and develop a Commercial Finance Analyst while playing an active role in wider finance improvement and transformation activity.

Duties

  • Acting as a trusted finance partner to Sales, Marketing and Customer Development teams.
  • Providing commercial insight and recommendations to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning.
  • Producing clear financial analysis that highlights risks, opportunities and areas requiring action.
  • Reviewing customer, channel and product profitability to identify opportunities to strengthen margins.
  • Evaluating commercial proposals, investments and business cases through robust financial modelling.
  • Supporting commercial teams in achieving revenue, profitability and P&L objectives.
  • Managing account-level balance sheet activity, including trade investment and customer deductions.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, commercial performance and value creation.
  • Providing scenario modelling and financial support for strategic projects and investment decisions.
  • Supporting finance transformation activity, including systems improvements, acquisitions and process simplification.
  • Monitoring the financial delivery of strategic and transformational initiatives.
  • Maintaining appropriate financial controls, governance and compliance.
  • Coaching and developing the Commercial Finance Analyst to strengthen capability across the team.

You will be a degree-educated, qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA equivalent) with strong commercial finance experience gained within FMCG. You will bring excellent analytical and financial modelling skills alongside proven business partnering and stakeholder management capabilities. A confident communicator, you will be comfortable influencing decisions, challenging constructively and managing competing priorities while remaining effective in a fast-paced environment.
