Our client is a long-established manufacturing business, supplying precision-engineered metal components across a broad range of demanding sectors including defence, aerospace, rail, nuclear, oil and gas, and off-highway. With a strong reputation and a global customer base, they are now investing in commercial leadership to lead the next phase of profitable, strategic growth.
The Role
- Develop and execute a commercial strategy focused on sustainable, profitable growth
- Build and manage strong relationships with key accounts
- Develop and grow an internal and external sales team, with a particular focus on the UK defence market
- Identify and penetrate new industrial sectors
- Work closely with design, engineering and production to align the offering with market needs
- Oversee pricing strategy, contract negotiation and margin optimisation
- Represent the business at trade shows and industry events
- Report to the Managing Director on commercial performance and strategic progress

The Candidate

- A minimum of five years in senior sales management within the forging or metalforming industries.
- A proven track record of opening and growing new market sectors, ideally in defence and aerospace
- Experience of developing and making the most of CRM systems
- A strong B2B sales background, with excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- A degree or professional qualification in engineering or business is desirable, though a strong track record will be considered in its place
