Commercial Sales Manager / Business Development Manager – Fuel Industry

Halso UK Fuels
Location: Staffordshire / Hybrid / Home-Based
Employment: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

Halso UK Fuels is an independent fuel distributor supplying businesses across the UK with commercial fuels, lubricants, AdBlue and renewable fuel solutions.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Sales Manager / Business Development Manager with a strong background in the fuel industry to join our team.

We’re not simply looking for someone to manage existing accounts.

We’re looking for a commercially driven individual who knows the industry, enjoys winning new business and can make a genuine impact on our growth.

If you’re currently working within fuel distribution and would like greater autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to play an important role within an ambitious independent business, we’d like to hear from you.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take responsibility for identifying, developing and securing new commercial business whilst also identifying opportunities to grow existing customer relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and winning new commercial fuel accounts.
  • Developing a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
  • Building long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Growing sales volumes and, importantly, profitable margin.
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities across fuels, lubricants, AdBlue and renewable fuels.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements and pricing.
  • Developing business across sectors including transport, construction, agriculture, manufacturing and plant hire.
  • Working closely with our sales, operations and management teams.
  • Using your knowledge of the market to identify new commercial opportunities for Halso.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
