Product Chain is a UK based partner for UK & international FMCG brands looking to enter & grow in the UK market through an outsourced commercial, sales & operational infrastructure. The company provides end to end go to market support, including market strategy, buyer engagement, account management & logistics coordination. With decades of FMCG experience across grocery, wholesale, convenience, pharmacy, foodservice & health food trade channels, Product Chain helps brands secure listings, drive sales & optimise performance. Clients benefit from an instant UK commercial & operations team, access to retailers & cross category expertise. Product Chain supports UK & international brands, either acting as their UK office or integrating with existing teams to strengthen presence & enable scalable growth.
Role Description
The Commercial Manager is a full time remote role responsible for delivering new business, driving commercial performance for UK & international FMCG clients in the UK market. The role covers two key areas - new business & account management, with the focus & majority of time being spent on targeting new business. Day to day tasks include:

- Opening up new business opportunities
- Developing & executing commercial / business plans
- Managing key accounts, retailer / client relationships & overseeing contract & pricing negotiations
- Monitoring sales performance when listings gained
- Leading demand & revenue planning
- Collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure smooth operational delivery
- Providing insights, optimising promotional strategies & supporting category growth across multiple retail & channel partners
- Effective input into & support where required regarding NPD & product launches in targeted customers
- Identifying new business opportunities beyond existing customers & products & leading development of such, to add new volume & value to the business for both Product Chain & our Clients
- Coordinating with client teams, guiding internal resources & ensuring commercial targets are consistently met

Qualifications
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience in overseeing revenue, margin & pricing strategies
- Proficiency in business planning & scenario analysis to support go to market & growth initiatives
- Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret market, category & retailer data & convert insights into actions
- Experience in team management, including coordinating internal & external stakeholders & cross-functional collaboration
- Solid contract management capabilities, including negotiation on CPI's, compliance oversight & risk management
- Background in FMCG, retail, or consumer goods sectors, ideally with exposure to UK grocery or related channels
- Excellent problem solving, communication, presentation & relationship building skills with buyers & client teams
- Ability to work within a small team, independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects & meet deadlines for several clients at any one time
- Advanced skills in Excel & commercial reporting tools
