In your new role as a Commercial Sales Negotiator, you will be joining a long-established and highly respected organisation based in Inverness. With a successful track record, loyal customer base and ambitious growth plans, the business continues to invest in its people and sales function. This is a full-time, office-based position in Inverness, working Monday to Friday.

Your new role

Working as part of a close-knit and dynamic sales team, you will play a key role in developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue growth. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, you will manage enquiries, prepare quotations, negotiate sales opportunities and convert customer enquiries into business. This is a business-to-business sales role where relationship building and commercial awareness are essential. You will work closely with existing and prospective customers to understand their requirements, provide tailored solutions and deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.

  • You will proactively engage with customers by telephone and email, building long-term relationships while identifying opportunities to maximise sales and develop accounts.
  • Operating within a fast-paced environment, you will be confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service and attention to detail.
  • Alongside your sales responsibilities, you will ensure all quotations, orders and customer information are processed accurately, contributing to the smooth running of a busy and successful sales department.

The role is fully office-based in Inverness, working between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident communicator with a positive and professional approach to building relationships with business customers. You will enjoy working in a target-driven environment and be motivated by the opportunity to influence sales performance and maximise earning potential. You will possess excellent organisational skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage a varied workload. Previous experience in a sales, account management, business development or customer-facing commercial role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided. You will be comfortable working independently whilst contributing to a collaborative team environment and will demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and delivering solutions for customers. Strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook and Teams, are essential. A full UK driving licence is required.
