Job Title: Commercial Sales Support

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically minded Commercial Sales Support professional to support the continued growth of our commercial burner and combustion business.

The role will be to provide day-to-day support to the commercial sales manager, helping customers select suitable burner solutions, prepare quotations, manage enquiries and ensure opportunities are followed through from initial enquiry to order.

The successful candidate will have an adequate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Sharepoint and Outlook to help fulfil all commercial administrative duties. With an eagerness to develop an understanding of commercial oil and gas burners, boilers, controls and associated combustion equipment with company-wide training continuously provided. This is an ideal role for someone to promptly progress in the heating, HVAC, combustion or engineering sector, and who will enjoy combining technical knowledge with customer service and sales.

Working Hours

  • Hours of work: 37.5 Hrs/wk. additional hours as required.
  • Holiday allowance: 20 days, rising 1 day after every full year worked to 25 days. (Extra 3 days given over the Christmas period.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming commercial burners and combustion enquiries by telephone and email.
  • Provide sales support for commercial customers, contractors, consultants and internal staff.
  • Assist with the selection and sizing of burners for commercial and industrial applications.
  • Prepare quotations for burners, controls, accessories, spare parts and associated equipment.
  • Review boiler and application information to help identify appropriate burner solutions.
  • Support customers with oil, natural gas and LPG burner applications.
  • Provide guidance on burner control options including on/off, high/low, two-stage and fully modulating systems.
  • Work closely with the Technical Sales Director and Commercial Sales Manager on commercial projects and larger opportunities.
  • Follow up quotations and enquiries to help convert opportunities into orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations and sales opportunities within the company's CRM system.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical specifications, pricing, availability and product selection.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Assist customers with replacement burner enquiries and identification of suitable alternatives for existing equipment.
  • Develop knowledge of relevant UK standards, regulations and emissions requirements affecting commercial combustion equipment.
  • Support the preparation of technical submittals, product information and project documentation where required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while helping identify new sales opportunities.
  • Provide general sales administration and technical support to the commercial sales department.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good numerical ability and confidence working with technical information.
  • Strong communication skills and professional telephone manners.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple quotations and enquiries.
  • A customer-focused approach with an interest in developing long-term commercial relationships.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using CRM or quotation systems.
  • A desire to develop deeper technical knowledge of burners, combustion systems and controls.
