Commercial Solicitor | Bristol

A chance to join a highly regarded South West firm and play a genuine part in growing its Commercial offering in Bristol.

If you are a Commercial Solicitor who enjoys the variety of commercial work but wants more ownership, client exposure, and opportunity to build a profile, this could be an interesting next step.

The firm already has an established Commercial practice, with an experienced Partner leading a broad caseload across:

  • Commercial contracts and contract negotiations
  • Technology and SaaS
  • E-commerce
  • Outsourcing
  • Data protection
  • Marketing, media, and brand agreements
  • Wider commercial advice to growing businesses

The client base is equally varied, ranging from entrepreneurial SMEs and owner-managed businesses through to larger national organisations, across sectors including technology, manufacturing, retail, and professional services.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Why this role?

The Bristol Commercial practice is looking to grow, and this role is about much more than simply taking on an existing caseload.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Build relationships
  • Develop your own client base
  • Play an active role in establishing the firm's presence in the Bristol commercial market

You will work closely with a leading Commercial Partner who has an excellent reputation for providing practical, commercially focused advice and developing long-term client relationships.

The firm is particularly interested in someone who can bring commercial judgement, personality, and a genuine appetite for business development.

You don't need to have a huge following already. What matters is that you are someone who wants to build one.

I'm keen to speak with Commercial Solicitors who:

  • Have solid experience across commercial contracts.
  • Enjoy working directly with clients.
  • Are commercially minded and pragmatic in their approach.
  • Want to develop their own relationships and profile.
  • Would like the opportunity to help grow a practice rather than simply service an existing one.
  • Are ideally operating at Senior Associate level upwards, although strong Commercial Solicitors at other levels may also be considered.

This is a Bristol-based opportunity, with regular travel to the firm's Swindon office and occasional travel to other offices.

If you're a Commercial Solicitor in Bristol who feels like you're ready for more autonomy and the opportunity to build something, I'd be very happy to have a confidential conversation.
