Commercial Solar Project Manager
Dartford | Hybrid | £50,000-£55,000 + benefits
We're looking for an experienced Commercial Solar Project Manager to join a growing renewable energy business and take ownership of multiple commercial solar PV projects from pre-construction through to installation, commissioning and client handover.
This is a hands-on project management role combining office/home working with regular UK site travel, including occasional overnight stays.
The Role
You'll manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard. You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, designers and internal teams to keep projects moving and resolve issues before they impact delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple commercial solar PV projects from handover through to completion
- Undertaking and coordinating commercial solar site surveys
- Developing project programmes, schedules and delivery plans
- Managing subcontractors, installers and specialist contractors
- Coordinating procurement, materials, deliveries and site logistics
- Leading client pre-start and project coordination meetings
- Reviewing RAMS and ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements
- Reviewing solar PV designs and identifying technical/constructability issues
- Coordinating electrical, structural and installation requirements
- Managing testing, commissioning, snagging and final client handover
- Monitoring programme, costs, risks, quality and project performance

About You
You'll have proven experience managing commercial solar PV projects, ideally including commercial rooftop and/or ground-mounted installations.
You'll also need:
- Strong understanding of commercial/industrial AC electrical installations
- Working knowledge of BS 7671
- Ability to understand SLDs, electrical schematics and LV distribution systems
- Experience managing solar installation subcontractors
- Experience with site surveys, RAMS and construction health & safety
- Strong project planning, organisational and communication skills
- The confidence to manage contractors and lead client meetings
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
