We’re Hiring: Commercial Solar Project Manager

Location: Northern Region (Field Based)
Salary: £50,000 + up to 10% bonus + company car allowance (£6,900)

Are you an experienced Commercial Solar Project Manager looking to take ownership of major renewable energy projects and play a key role in supporting the UK’s transition to net zero?
We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of commercial solar PV installations across the UK, managing projects from contract award through to commissioning and client handover.

This is a key role within our Operations team, responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About the role

You will manage multiple commercial solar PV projects, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and solar carport installations. Working closely with clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), you will oversee the full project lifecycle and ensure successful delivery.

  • Managing end-to-end delivery of commercial solar PV projects from mobilisation through to handover
  • Managing projects with values up to £1m across multiple sites
  • Coordinating design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and client handover activities
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes and monitoring progress against key milestones
  • Managing budgets, variations, forecasting, and project performance
  • Leading subcontractors, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, RAMS, HSE requirements, and quality standards
  • Supporting DNO applications, grid connection processes (G98/G99), testing, and energisation
  • Building strong relationships with customers and providing regular project updates

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
