Commercial Lawyer | Cheltenham
£45-55K DOE
GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are delighted to be supporting a well-established and forward-thinking organisation in their search for an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join their growing legal team in Cheltenham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Solicitor who is looking to take the next step in their career within a varied and progressive legal environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality commercial legal advice, supporting the wider business and working closely with senior stakeholders across a broad range of matters.
The Role
As a Commercial Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload and providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a range of business-critical matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial legal matters, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, agency, intellectual property licensing and SaaS agreements.
- Advising on data protection, consumer law and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting corporate transactions, strategic projects and complex cross-border commercial arrangements.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers to identify risks and deliver practical, commercially focused solutions.
- Providing clear and concise legal advice to support wider business objectives.
- Building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and contributing positively to the development of the wider legal function.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE, with strong experience within a commercial legal environment. You will ideally possess:
- A strong background in Commercial Law, with experience advising businesses on a broad range of commercial matters.
- Excellent drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant commercial legislation, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Experience dealing with commercial contracts and agreements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A pragmatic and commercially minded approach to legal advice.
- The ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities independently.
- A proactive, collaborative and client-focused approach.
