Are you a commercially minded solicitor looking to make your first move in-house, or an experienced in-house lawyer seeking a broader role with greater business exposure?

Isca Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly respected not-for-profit organisation in the appointment of a Commercial Solicitor to join its collaborative Legal team.

You'll enjoy a broad and varied in-house role, working closely with stakeholders across the business and providing commercially focused legal advice that directly supports the organisation's strategic objectives and member services.

As part of a small, high-performing legal team, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of matters from instruction through to completion, whilst gaining exposure to a wide range of commercial, operational and customer-facing legal issues.

In-House Commercial Solicitor - The Role

You will play a key role in supporting the organisation's relationships with third-party suppliers, healthcare providers and business customers, alongside supporting the delivery of its insurance products and services.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
  • Supporting supplier and provider relationships.
  • Managing the legal aspects of third-party risk management activities.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Advising on legal issues affecting individual customers, SME clients and corporate policyholders.
  • Supporting the development of customer communications, contractual terms and policy documentation.
  • Assisting with strategic projects, business initiatives and product development.
  • Working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel across a broad range of legal matters.
  • Taking ownership of legal matters and delivering practical, commercially focused solutions.

In-House Commercial Solicitor – The Rewards

In-house Commercial Solicitor - About You

We are keen to hear from qualified solicitors with around 3-5 years' PQE, although applications from candidates with differing levels of experience will also be considered.

You Will Possess

  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Experience gained within private practice, in-house, or a combination of both.
  • The ability to manage matters independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound legal judgement.
  • A first-rate communicator with effective stakeholder management skills.
  • A natural solutions finder with excellent analytical skills.
  • You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
  • Experience within sectors such as healthcare, insurance, financial services, procurement, supplier arrangements or data protection would be advantageous, but is not essential.
