Drive the strategic initiatives that unlock new growth across CarTrawler’s commercial engine. This role sits right at the intersection of strategy and execution, shaping priorities, building winning go-to-market approaches and turning insight into action across our most important opportunities. Working closely with Commercial Leadership and cross-functional teams, you’ll lead high-impact, cross-functional strategic initiatives from ideation to implementation, ensuring alignment and measurable outcomes while bringing clear, board-ready storytelling to the moments that matter. This role can be based in Dublin or UK, with periodic travel to our Dublin headquarters to support important in-person meetings and collaboration.

What You’ll Do As a Commercial Strategy Lead

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Shape long-term commercial and partner strategies that drive sustainable growth and advance CarTrawler’s overarching strategic objectives.
  • Develop winning go-to-market strategies to enter new segments and secure high-value partners, working closely with Commercial Leadership.
  • Create differentiated business models, value propositions and prospect engagement strategies tailored to partner segments and regions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Partnerships, Trading, Supply, Product, Marketing, Finance) to ensure strategies and GTM plans reflect market trends, prospect needs, and evolving platform capabilities.
  • Embed AI-driven thinking and tooling into commercial workflows – improving decision-making, enhancing commercial modelling, and driving new ways of working across the Commercial organisation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional strategic initiatives from idea through to implementation, tracking alignment and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with Business Development to prioritise high-value opportunities, stress-test negotiation approaches, and help shape winning strategies.
  • Build and refine high-quality commercial proposals with Product Marketing and stakeholders—clear, rigorous and tailored to the partner and segment.
  • Deliver market, competitor, and win/loss insights that sharpen our commercial strategy and improve how we sell.
  • Improve deal governance and commercial frameworks (pricing structures, modelling, rate cards, approvals, and proposition rules by segment/tier).
  • Create concise, insight-led updates for the Leadership Team and Board on pipeline performance, major opportunities, and strategic progress.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

  • 3–5 years’ experience in strategy, commercial strategy or management consulting—ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including pricing, commercial modelling and evaluating revenue/profitability trade-offs.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, able to turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Confident communicator and storyteller, comfortable presenting to senior executives.
  • Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders across a matrixed organisation, challenging constructively and driving decisions forward.
  • A pragmatic, ownership mindset, happy to work independently end-to-end and excited by using AI, data and automation to improve ways of working.
