The Role
Stags are looking to recruit an experienced commercial surveyor to expand its commercial property offering in Devon. This new role with Stags presents a fantastic opportunity for someone to drive the commercial property service primarily based out of our Tiverton office but with time in our Totnes Fore Street office.
The role will involve acting for a mix of clients from a central Devon location, assisting with a range of work but with a focus on providing red book valuations. Other work may include landlord and tenant matters, lettings, agency, and commercial property management.
The role is suited to an ambitious and driven individual looking to progress their career and develop this service in a new location. The successful candidate will be required to build the service with support from the Partnership, develop business contacts, and work with other members of the immediate team, wider department, and firm as a whole.
Requirements
The skills and characteristics we are looking for include:
- Member of the RICS with at least 3 years post-qualification experience
- RICS Registered Valuer
- Experience in a range of commercial property matters including valuations for a range of purposes, lettings, agency, rent reviews, and lease renewals
- Excellent communication skills
- Driven to meet personal and business targets
- Able to work on your own initiative and as a team
- Good working knowledge of IT including use of Excel, Word & Outlook
- Organised with a high level of attention to detail
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks and ensure deadlines are met
- Confident in your abilities and interested in driving and expanding the business
- Full UK driving licence

About Us
Stags is a multi-disciplinary firm of Estate Agents, Chartered Surveyors, and Auctioneers, which has been operating in the South-West of England since 1874. The firm has a range of departments including; Property Agency and Lettings, Professional Services, Agriculture, Auctions, and Commercial.
The commercial department has historically been based out of the Totnes office covering a range of commercial property matters across the South Hams. This new role is therefore part of our expansion plans for this department to cover Exeter, parts of Somerset, Mid, East, and North Devon. We believe there are significant opportunities to grow our commercial service across this area.
