We are seeking to recruit a Commercial Agent / Commercial Surveyor to join our growing St Albans Commercial Agency Team.
The Role
The role will involve undertaking a range of commercial agency and lease advisory instructions within St Albans, Hertfordshire and beyond. This is a great opportunity to work across a varied caseload and further develop your fee-earning capabilities and client base.
The role will involve undertaking property inspections, market research, preparing property particulars, agency instructions, lettings, disposals and acquisitions, as well as lease advisory matters including lease renewals, rent reviews, lease restructures and surrender negotiations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Director and wider St Albans team to develop the business, creating and nurturing opportunities through to fee-generating work. There will also be opportunities to develop relationships across the wider Company and identify and cross-sell opportunities to other departments and offices.
This role will be required to work from our St Albans office 5 days a week.
Skills + Experience
We are looking for an experienced, sociable and commercially minded individual who can make a strong contribution to the continued growth of our Commercial Agency and Surveying team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the commercial property market, excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Previous experience within a commercial property, agency or surveying environment is essential. Candidates should have experience of working across commercial property instructions and be confident managing their own workload whilst also working as part of a wider team. Candidates should be confident dealing with clients and other professionals, commercially aware and able to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Role Requirements
- Relevant degree in Real Estate, Property, Surveying or a related discipline would be beneficial.
- MRICS or AssocRICS status, or candidates working towards professional qualification, would be advantageous.
- Previous experience within Commercial Agency, Lease Advisory or Commercial Surveying is required, with a good understanding of the commercial property market and the ability to provide market advice to clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations to new and existing clients, are essential. Strong problem-solving skills, commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approach are also required.
- The successful candidate must hold a full valid UK driving licence and have access to their own car.
- Candidates should be local to Hertfordshire and able to commute to our St Albans office on a daily basis.
