EH Smith Builders Merchants is one of the largest independent builders merchants in the UK, with over a century of experience supporting tradespeople and DIY customers. EH Smith is known for its excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, and comprehensive range of building materials. With 10 branches across the Midlands and South East, the company offers products spanning bricks, timber, civils, tools, and landscaping, providing a reliable and convenient service to a wide customer base.
Role Description
The Commercial Team Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Solihull, supporting the commercial team with day-to-day administrative and coordination tasks. Responsibilities include:

- Assisting with commercial management activities such as preparing and updating reports, tracking quotations and orders, and following up on outstanding queries with internal teams and external partners.
- Maintaining accurate records, monitoring key commercial metrics, and providing analytical support to help the team make informed decisions.
- Helping organize meetings, coordinate communication between branches and stakeholders, and support team management activities by ensuring workflows, documentation, and deadlines are effectively managed.

Qualifications
- Strong commercial awareness and experience in commercial management or coordination.
- Proficiency in following up on tasks, queries, and documentation to ensure timely completion.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, prepare reports, and identify trends.
- Experience in team management support, including organizing workloads and assisting with team coordination.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact clearly with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Good IT skills, including competency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in construction, building materials, or a related commercial environment is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in Solihull and build positive working relationships with the wider branch network.
