WeBuyBricks
WeBuyBricks is a fast-growing business specialising in buying, sorting, rebuilding and selling used LEGO®. Using technology developed in-house, including automated sorting machines capable of identifying and sorting thousands of different LEGO pieces, we're developing a new approach to the used LEGO market.
We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and highly numerate Commercial Trading Executive to help drive the next stage of our growth.
This is an opportunity for someone relatively early in their commercial career who wants genuine responsibility and the opportunity to develop quickly.
The Role
This is a decision-making role, not simply a data analysis role. At its heart are four questions:
- What should we buy?
- What should we pay?
- What should we create from the stock we have?
- What should we sell it for?
You'll use data, market knowledge and commercial judgement to make those decisions and measure the results. You'll be supported by our Commercial Manager, Data Scientist and our Operations, Technology and Marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and regularly review buying prices for used LEGO sets.
- Determine appropriate selling prices across our website and marketplaces.
- Make commercial decisions based on demand, market prices, stock levels, margin and sales performance.
- Determine which LEGO sets should be recreated using pieces identified by our automated sorting machines.
- Decide the most profitable use of available stock and individual pieces.
- Determine the optimum bundles and product combinations to create and sell.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales, gross margin and stock turn.
- Monitor LEGO sets, themes, retired products and trends in the secondary market.
- Work with our Data Scientist to develop pricing models, reports and decision-making tools.
- Work closely with the Marketing team on promotions, products, pricing and commercial opportunities.
- Work with Technology to develop and automate commercial systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and monitor the results of trading decisions.
- Take increasing ownership of WeBuyBricks' day-to-day commercial performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
We're more interested in commercial ability, judgement and potential than finding someone who has already done exactly this job.
You'll ideally have:
- Some experience in a commercial, buying, merchandising, pricing, e-commerce, finance or trading environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Very good Excel skills and confidence working with large amounts of data.
- Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of pricing, margin and profitability.
- A logical and systems-minded approach.
- The confidence to make decisions rather than simply present the data.
- Curiosity and a desire to understand why products sell, what they're worth and how to maximise their value.
- Good attention to detail and record keeping.
- The ambition and ability to take on increasing responsibility as the business grows.

Knowledge of LEGO and the secondary LEGO market would be a significant advantage, particularly an understanding of sets, themes, collectability and second-hand values.
However, we'll also consider exceptional candidates with strong commercial and numerical ability who can demonstrate a genuine interest in learning the LEGO market.
The Opportunity
This isn't a traditional analyst position where you'll produce reports for somebody else to make the decisions.
You'll be expected to use the information available to make commercial decisions yourself, measure the outcome and continually improve them.
You'll have experienced people around you, including commercial management, a Data Scientist and Operations teams but we'll give you increasing autonomy as you demonstrate your ability.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to develop from Commercial Trading Executive into a senior commercial role as WeBuyBricks grows.
