OPPORTUNITY
Millennium Insurance is looking for a Commercial Underwriting Assistant to join our team of insurance professionals.
As a member of the Commercial team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support, managing documentation, and ensuring the accurate processing of commercial insurance transactions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the insurance industry while contributing to the success of our organization.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Perform accurate data entry and reconciliation for monthly bordereaux across various broker programs.
- Ensure the timely and accurate recording, maintenance, and updating of bordereau transactions and supporting documentation.
- Provide administrative support to Commercial Underwriters and other team members.
- Process new business, renewal transactions, endorsements, policy documents, and invoices with a high degree of accuracy.
- Follow up on outstanding payments with brokers and clients as required.
- Coordinate payment processing and assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
- Upload and maintain policy documents, endorsements, invoices, and bordereaux within the file management system.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation.
- Consistently meet critical deadlines while effectively prioritizing competing tasks.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy, quality, and customer service in all work performed.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- Experience in a commercial underwriting support, administrative, insurance operations, or similar role is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Office Administration, Insurance, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with commercial insurance terminology, processes, and documentation is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Very good analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

In the first year, success will be measured by the ability to independently assess and evaluate the commercial insurance landscape, understanding insurance fundamentals, continuous adaptation to trends, and effective communication and organizational skills.
