Commercial Utilities Officer | Self-Employed
Gas, Electric & Water | Collections & Disconnections | Self-Employed | London
£180 to £220 per day | OTE up to £300
Starting daily rate: £180 for the first four weeks. Thereafter, you can choose either a fee-only structure with an OTE of £300 per day or remain on a pre-agreed guaranteed daily rate of £180+ per day.
♦ Role Overview
Join Engage Services - part of the Marston Holdings Group, a leading provider of enforcement and field services.
We are looking for experienced field professionals with a proven background in commercial water collections and physical water disconnections.
As a Commercial Utilities Enforcement Officer, you will work across Water, Gas and Electricity, undertaking commercial collections, water disconnections/reconnections, Gas & Electric Pre-Disconnection Visits (PDVs) and supporting warrant executions.
Valid EUSR National Water Hygiene (Blue Card) and relevant industry accreditation
Previous Commercial Water Collection And Disconnection Experience Is Essential.
Full training is provided on Engage Services' and our clients' processes, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, including Gas & Electric PDVs and warrant activities.

£180 to £220+ per day | OTE up to £300

- Flexible self-employed working arrangement
- Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week, 8 hours per day

♦ Key Responsibilities
Commercial Water
- Visit commercial customers on behalf of major water retail clients
- Conduct collection and pre-disconnection visits
- Secure payment and resolve outstanding accounts
- Verify occupancy and lease information
- Carry out water disconnections and reconnections
- Clamp water meters where authorised
- Complete commercial void and occupancy visits
- Maintain accurate reports and evidence
Commercial Gas & Electricity
- Undertake Gas & Electric Pre-Disconnection Visits (PDVs)
- Engage with commercial customers to secure payment and resolve accounts
- Attend and support Gas & Electric warrant executions
- Work alongside authorised engineers, locksmiths and other parties where required
- Complete required field reports and documentation
Full training is provided for Gas & Electric PDVs, warrant execution processes and client procedures.

♦ Essential Experience & Requirements
Candidates must have previous commercial water industry experience involving collections and physical water disconnections.
You will also require:
- Valid EUSR National Water Hygiene (Blue Card) and relevant industry accreditation
- Experience of water meter clamping, disconnections and reconnections
- Full UK driving licence
- Suitable vehicle with business insurance
- ULEZ-compliant vehicle for London assignments where required
- Clean DBS
- Satisfactory credit history - CCJs may be considered where repayment arrangements exist
- Strong communication, negotiation and conflict-management skills
- Ability to work independently and follow client procedures
Previous experience in Gas & Electric PDVs, warrant execution, utility enforcement or commercial debt recovery is advantageous, but full training on our Gas & Electric processes will be provided.
