About Goalhanger
Goalhanger is one of the UK’s most exciting independent media companies, the team behind some of the world’s most successful shows, including The Rest Is Politics, The Rest Is History, The Rest Is Football, The Rest Is Entertainment, and a fast-growing slate. We’re a creative, fast-moving organisation with big ambitions and a brilliant team that makes them happen.
This role is based full time (5 days a week) in our office in Oval.
£35,000 - £42,000 OTE
The Role
We’re looking for creative, experienced video editors to join our growing commercial team. Goalhanger editors need a keen instinct for story, pacing, structure and tone, using those skills to turn commercial briefs into content that audiences genuinely want to engage with.
You’ll work across every podcast on our slate, producing everything from custom segments and baked-in activations to social-first content and more. You’ll be confident interpreting creative briefs, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and balancing commercial objectives with what works for each show and its audience. Above all, you’ll understand how to edit for retention, knowing how to hook an audience, hold their attention and keep the content feeling native to the podcast.
What you’ll do:
- Edit baked-in activations, custom segments, and social-first commercial content.
- Collaborate with the wider creative production team and commercial delivery teams.
- Edit long form commercial content to become engaging and shorter, social-first clips.
- Apply feedback quickly and clearly, whilst simultaneously managing projects and deadlines across multiple clients.
- Apply learnings and techniques from the creation & activation of our editorial content to ensure our commercial content is as engaging as possible for our audience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
