Job Description

Our client is a leading Facilities Management business, who are looking to expand their excellent legal team, with a focus on Capital Projects. They are ideally looking for a commercial/construction lawyer, with 4-6 PQE and extensive experience in both NEC and JCT contracts, ideally with some in-house experience. You will play a crucial role in the business, supporting on major projects, working closely with and reporting to the Head of Legal, this is an excellent opportunity to work on exciting, large-scale projects in-house. The role also offers flexibility on location, with the option to be based in their London or Surrey offices.

  • Advising and negotiating on construction contracts, and other commercial contracts, so a deep knowledge of contract law is necessary.
  • Solid experience in standard form contracts is essential.
  • Good knowledge of these areas of law: data protection in commercial transactions, competition law, TUPE and intellectual property rights issues.
  • Negotiating and advising on construction and commercial agreements, including standard form NEC and JCT.
  • Direct support to the Projects Leadership Team on various issues.
  • Supporting the business with disputes with clients or suppliers and instructing external counsel where necessary.
  • Advising on legal developments and implications for the business.
  • Maintaining and updating standard contract terms.
