At Cambridge Enterprise, you’ll dive into a world of cutting-edge discoveries, licensing research tools created by some of the brightest minds at the University of Cambridge. - An understanding of the needs and motivations of both academia and industry, with the ability to identify opportunities that create value for both.
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in helping research outputs reach wider audiences through licensing and consultancy.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate and professional documents and agreements.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build relationships with academics, external organisations and colleagues across a range of functions.

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, particularly when reviewing information, undertaking due diligence and managing agreements.
- Confidence working independently while recognising when to seek advice and collaborate with specialist colleagues.
- A proactive, motivated and enthusiastic approach, with a strong sense of accountability and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills and confidence using systems, databases and online platforms to manage projects and records.
- An interest in developing expertise in licensing, consultancy, intellectual property and research commercialisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
