Commis Chef

Here at Harrods, we currently house more celebrity chefs, exclusive dining brands and unique food halls than any other location in the UK. We are recruiting for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to work on rotation across the hot and cold kitchen and roast section in Harrods' production kitchens.

About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen brigade, supporting senior chefs to deliver consistently high standards of food quality, safety and presentation. Working across sections, you will contribute to daily food production while developing your technical skills in a fast-paced, structured kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering daily mise en place and production as directed by senior chefs
  • Ensuring all dishes meet recipe specifications for taste, temperature and presentation
  • Maintaining organisation, stock rotation and accurate labelling within your section
  • Adhering to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards at all times
  • Supporting menu development, operational tasks and section administration as required

This role is fully on site, working 5 out of the 7 days a week.

Please see our Hybrid@Harrods policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.

About You

You will be passionate about food and eager to build a career within a professional kitchen. You will thrive in a physical, fast-paced environment and take pride in working to high standards under pressure. Detail-focused and organised, you will contribute positively to the wider team while remaining calm and resilient during busy service periods. You will be reliable, adaptable and committed to learning, with a strong desire to develop your culinary skills.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
