Commis Chef - Mythe Barn

Artemis is looking for a Commis Chef to join our talented kitchen team at Mythe Barn, a beautiful wedding venue set in the Warwickshire countryside.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves cooking and wants to develop their career in a professional, high-end kitchen environment. You’ll work alongside experienced chefs, gain hands-on experience with fresh, seasonal ingredients and have opportunities to learn new skills, develop your own dishes and experience kitchens across our wider estate.

At Mythe Barn, you'll be working in an idyllic countryside setting, preparing fresh, seasonal food for weddings and special events in a modern, well-equipped kitchen.

  • Work at other venues across the Artemis estate, giving you exposure to different kitchens, teams and styles of service.
  • Get involved in planning and testing new dishes as part of our chef development programme.
  • Take part in our annual chef competition, giving you the opportunity to showcase your creativity.
  • Learn how to manage a busy kitchen using our Checkit food management system.
  • Build your confidence and experience with the support of our Head Chef and Sous Chef.
  • Develop your career within a growing hospitality business.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for cooking and a desire to learn.

You'll ideally have:

  • Around 1 year's experience in a similar kitchen role.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for food and cooking.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to remain calm and organised during busy services.
  • An understanding of HACCP and good kitchen hygiene practices.
  • A proven track record, supported by good references.
  • Your own transport, due to our rural location.
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK.

Your role will include:

  • Preparing fresh ingredients and dishes to a high standard.
  • Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef during preparation and service.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and professional kitchen.
  • Following our allergen and food safety procedures, with full training provided.
  • Learning and using our Checkit food management system, with full training provided.
  • Supporting the team during busy wedding and event services.
  • Taking feedback from experienced chefs and using it to develop your skills.
  • Getting involved in new dish development and testing as your confidence grows.
