Company Description
Situated on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, Palé Hall is a luxury country house hotel set within a historic Victorian mansion with 22 bedrooms and exciting plans for further investment and development. As one of Wales’ AA Five Red Star hotels, holding Three AA Rosettes, Palé Hall offers exceptional dining across its fine dining restaurant, with menus centred on seasonal, locally sourced produce.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Commis Chef/Chef De Partie to develop their career while working alongside Luke Selby, within a Three AA Rosette kitchen well on its way to Michelin Star recognition. The role is ideal for someone passionate about fine dining and eager to learn in a supportive, high-quality kitchen environment with strong opportunities for growth and development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
