Castle Hill Inn is looking for a Commis Cook to join the team in our fine-dining room, Aurelia. Residing inside the historic Agassiz Mansion at Castle Hill Inn, The Forbes and Relais & Chateaux restaurant Aurelia is the next evolution in Castle Hill’s culinary journey – one that has been lauded as one of the best dining experiences in New England. Nestled on forty magical acres, the property has been the backdrop of memorable occasions for more than a century. Castle Hill Inn is proud to be part of the Newport Restaurant Group!
About the Position:
In the Commis Cook role, you will be preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food for guests.
About You:
- You are energetic, highly motivated, and have a passion for hospitality where pleasing our guests comes naturally.
- You are able to work in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent multitasking skills, and are willing to work as part of a team.
Essential Duties:
- Prep ingredients and prepare recipes to specification
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
- Properly label and rotate ingredients and finished recipes according to FLM standard
- Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards
- Assist with receiving deliveries
- Adheres to all policies and procedures as detailed in Food Safety Plan
- Always maintain composure and hospitality nature with guests and other staff

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of previous fine dining server experience preferred
- Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
- Must hold Alcohol Safety Certification
Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds
- Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships
