As a Commis Sommelier
As a Commis Sommelier, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional wine experiences across our restaurants and bars. This is more than a beverage service role; it is about Relationship Hospitality: creating genuine connections, sharing your passion for wine with confidence and warmth, and helping guests discover pairings and experiences that elevate every occasion. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised wine recommendations and pairing suggestions, helping guests confidently explore and enjoy the wine list.
- Deliver exceptional wine service through the correct presentation, decanting, temperature management, and use of premium glassware.
- Support the Head Sommelier and wider wine team with cellar organisation, stock rotation, deliveries, and inventory management.
- Assist in maintaining accurate wine storage and presentation standards, ensuring all bottles and equipment are cared for correctly.
- Participate actively in team tastings, training sessions, and educational opportunities to continuously develop wine knowledge.
- Work closely with culinary and front-of-house teams to create a seamless dining experience and enhance food and wine pairings.
- Monitor the quality of open bottles and ensure beverage service equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
- Contribute positively to the guest journey, ensuring every interaction reflects Rosewood's commitment to luxury hospitality.
