Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-focused individual to join Darktrace’s Sales Compensation team, helping ensure sales commissions and incentive payments are accurate and paid on time across multiple regions.
This role is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, is comfortable using Excel and is keen to learn. You will work with colleagues across Sales Operations, Finance, HR and Payroll, developing your understanding of global sales compensation processes.
What will I be doing?
- Helping calculate and process sales commissions and incentive payments in line with agreed compensation plans.
- Using Excel to organise data, check sales performance and payment calculations, and identify discrepancies for review.
- Working with colleagues across different teams and regions to keep information accurate, answer routine payment queries and prepare commission statements and reports.
- Maintaining clear records of calculations and checks, following internal controls and data protection requirements.
- Contributing ideas to improve processes and supporting projects involving systems, reporting and compensation policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What experience do I need?
You do not need previous experience in sales compensation. We are interested in your Excel skills, your ability to work accurately and your willingness to learn. Relevant skills may come from education, employment, volunteering or personal projects.
You will bring:
- Excel skills and attention to detail: you can organise spreadsheets, use basic formulas and carefully check your work for accuracy.
- A willingness to learn and solve problems: you are interested in developing your skills and comfortable investigating differences in data rather than making assumptions.
- Clear communication and teamwork: you can ask questions, explain information and work with colleagues across different teams.
- An organised approach: you can manage tasks, meet deadlines and recognise when to ask for support.
Familiarity with VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP would be helpful, as would exposure to finance, payroll, data administration or systems such as Salesforce and Xactly. These are desirable rather than essential.
