Stanton House is partnering with a global information and intelligence services business to appoint a Commissions & Targets Manager.

Operating across multiple specialist markets, the organisation provides data, insight and technology solutions that support critical commercial decision-making. Role

This position sits within the Commercial Finance team and takes ownership of the sales target setting and commission processes across the group.

The successful candidate will work closely with commercial and sales leadership teams to ensure targets are robust, commission schemes are well-governed and performance data is translated into actionable commercial insight.

The role offers broad exposure across the business and combines commercial partnering, process improvement, analytics and team management responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end sales target setting process, partnering with finance and sales stakeholders to establish fair, challenging and commercially appropriate targets.
  • Own the sales commission cycle, ensuring calculations, approvals and payments are accurate, timely and well controlled.
  • Manage commission systems and ensure monthly approvals are maintained effectively.
  • Develop and maintain policies, processes and controls relating to target setting and commissions.
  • Partner with sales leadership to provide insight, challenge and support around performance and growth.
  • Analyse commission and performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Improve and automate reporting, commission and target-setting processes.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, governance and commission-related cost management activities.
  • Review and refine commission structures to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and develop a direct report, promoting a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Essential

  • 5+ years' experience in commercial finance, sales performance, incentives, commissions or a related discipline.
  • Experience partnering closely with sales teams in a fast-paced, recurring revenue or technology-enabled environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability.
  • Ability to translate complex data into meaningful commercial insight and recommendations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrable experience improving processes, controls and ways of working.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.

Desired

  • Previous people management, coaching or mentoring experience.
  • Experience designing or administering sales commission and incentive schemes.
  • Exposure to target-setting frameworks and sales performance management.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Spiff, Clari or similar platforms.
  • Experience driving automation and scalable reporting solutions within a growing business.
