The Role

At Worcestershire County Council, the Adult Social Care Commissioners are working with a wide range of partners across social care and health to deliver our strategy – ensuring Worcestershire residents are healthier, live longer, have a better quality of life and remain independent for as long as possible.

We are looking for an experienced, organised, proactive and motivated Commissioning and Market Support Officer to join our supportive and highly skilled Commissioning Team.

Working closely with Commissioners, Quality Assurance Practitioners, providers and system partners, you will support commissioning priorities through market intelligence, performance information, stakeholder engagement and project support. The role offers a varied workload and an opportunity to develop your skills across a broad range of commissioning activities, including:

  • Supporting the planning, development and delivery of commissioning activity across a range of adult social care services.
  • Collecting, analysing and presenting market intelligence, financial and performance information to support decision making and future service planning.

  • Producing reports, briefings and presentations to support governance and commissioning processes.
  • Supporting the development of innovative digital solutions and data-driven approaches to strengthen commissioning intelligence and market insight.
  • Contributing to service improvement initiatives, projects and programmes across the Commissioning Unit.
  • Maintaining accurate records, information systems and reporting processes to support effective market oversight and contract monitoring.
  • Support the management of purchase orders, invoices and provider payment queries and maintaining contract and financial records.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
