Job Description

Location: Remote

Join CDE, a global leader in pioneering industry-leading, world-changing engineering solutions for the natural processing and waste recycling sectors. For over 30 years, we have been at the forefront of innovation, completing over 2,000 projects worldwide from our headquarters in Northern Ireland and offices across the globe. Our mission is to create our best world, a ton at a time, by empowering our customers to transform materials into valuable resources.

We are seeking a dedicated Commissioning Engineer to play a crucial part in this mission. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning designated projects, ensuring that all plant systems and components are installed, tested, operated, and maintained to meet the customer's operational requirements. You will be a key figure in delivering our projects safely and efficiently, contributing directly to our efforts in minimising environmental impact and building the foundations for a circular economy. If you are passionate about engineering and sustainability, this is your chance to make a tangible difference.

About The Role

As a Commissioning Engineer at CDE, your day-to-day will be dynamic and hands-on. You'll be site-based, travelling extensively across the UK and worldwide to bring our innovative wet processing plants to life. Your responsibilities will span the full MEICA spectrum, from providing commissioning services to delivering complex engineering solutions and troubleshooting on-site issues. You'll work closely with a diverse team of specialists, construction managers, and clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard.

This role offers fantastic growth opportunities, allowing you to deepen your expertise in 3-phase systems, instrumentation, and automation. You'll not only solve technical challenges but also train client personnel, making you a key ambassador for CDE's quality and service. It's an exciting opportunity to see the world, take ownership of projects, and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
