⚡ TP141 Commissioning Engineer – Birmingham

Hunter Philips is currently looking for an experienced TP141 Commissioning Engineer to support a major High Voltage transmission and substation project in the Birmingham area. The position would suit an established Commissioning Engineer with previous National Grid transmission experience and strong knowledge of TP141 commissioning requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver High Voltage substation commissioning activities in accordance with TP141 requirements.
- Carry out protection and control commissioning.
- Perform secondary injection, functional and scheme testing.
- Test protection relays, control systems and associated equipment.
- Complete trip testing, interlocking and end-to-end functional checks.
- Support High Voltage equipment commissioning and energisation.
- Identify and troubleshoot commissioning issues.
- Produce and complete commissioning documentation and test records.
- Coordinate with protection engineers, commissioning teams and site management.
- Support final energisation and handover of transmission assets.

Experience Required
- Previous TP141 commissioning experience.
- Strong National Grid transmission/substation experience.
- High Voltage commissioning experience at 132kV, 275kV and/or 400kV.
- Strong protection and control commissioning knowledge.
- Protection relay and secondary injection testing experience.
- Experience using Omicron testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of transmission substation commissioning procedures.
- Previous experience supporting energisation and handover activities.
- Current or previous relevant National Grid authorisations/approvals would be highly advantageous.
