Commissioning Engineer - Field Based (UK+ International Travel)

UK based role

Join a global engineering organisation at the forefront of water purification and process technology. Working on projects across multiple industries, you will be responsible for commissioning, testing, validating and optimising complex systems while supporting customers through acceptance and operational handover.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be responsible for commissioning and starting up water purification and process systems, carrying out performance testing and validating systems against specification and contractual requirements.

You will investigate process, control system and plant performance issues, analyse performance data, optimise operating parameters and support system improvement activities.

The role also includes PLC and SCADA commissioning, control system validation, instrumentation integration, commissioning documentation, operator training and technical support. Working closely with engineering, controls, project, technical sales and customer teams, you will help ensure systems are commissioned successfully, achieve required performance standards and are accepted into operation.

What We Are Looking For

  • Commissioning, start-up, field service or industrial process plant experience.
  • Experience within water treatment, utilities, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, power generation or similar industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of water purification systems, process equipment and plant operations.
  • Experience with PLC, SCADA and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience carrying out testing, validation and system acceptance activities.
  • Comfortable delivering customer training and technical support.
  • Engineering Degree, HNC, HND or substantial practical commissioning experience.
  • Professional and customer-focused with strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently on customer sites.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally.
