⚡ 132kV SSEN Commissioning Engineer – South England
Location: South England

Hunter Philips is currently looking for an experienced 132kV Commissioning Engineer to support major Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) substation projects across the South of England. The position would suit an established High Voltage Commissioning Engineer with previous Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) experience and a strong background in protection, control, and electrical commissioning.
Responsibilities:
- Commission High Voltage substation equipment up to 132kV.
- Carry out protection, control, and electrical commissioning activities.
- Perform secondary injection and functional testing.
- Test protection relays, control systems, and associated equipment.
- Complete trip testing, interlocking, and scheme testing.
- Support energisation and final handover activities.
- Diagnose and resolve commissioning issues on site.
- Complete commissioning documentation and test records.
- Work closely with protection engineers, commissioning teams, and site management.
- Ensure commissioning activities comply with Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) safety rules and procedures.

Experience Required:
- Strong High Voltage substation commissioning experience.
- Experience working at 132kV.
- Previous Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) project experience.
- Strong protection and control commissioning knowledge.
- Experience with protection relay testing and secondary injection.
- Experience with Omicron testing equipment.
- Relevant Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) authorisations would be highly advantageous.
- Experience supporting substation energisation and handover.
