Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – London

The Opportunity
This is more than a standard Mechanical Commissioning Engineer position. Our client is looking for a Spanish-speaking Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to become their key technical presence in the UK, based in London. You’ll take ownership of mechanical commissioning activities, work directly with clients and contractors, and provide technical support throughout projects. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants responsibility and the opportunity to become a trusted representative of the business in the UK.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and deliver mechanical commissioning activities on client sites.
- Review designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Verify installations meet project designs and client requirements.
- Support contractors throughout the commissioning process.
- Carry out testing, inspections, and acceptance activities.
- Liaise directly with clients and contractors on technical matters.
- Prepare commissioning reports, risk documentation, issue logs, and project trackers.
- Provide technical support and help resolve project issues.
- Support the inspection and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Ensure work is carried out in line with quality, environmental, and health & safety requirements.

What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical commissioning.
- Mechanical or industrial engineering background.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD.
- Strong reporting and technical documentation skills.
- Project management experience or strong project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing ability.
- Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
- Strong team player with a hands-on approach.
- Fluent Spanish speaker. Will consider Portuguese
- Eligible to work in the UK.
