Commissioning Manager – Grid & Power Systems
UK & Europe | Permanent | Rotation Available
Do you have a background in substations, power generation, utilities or transmission & distribution?

AEP Global is looking for experienced Commissioning Managers to lead the safe testing, energisation and commissioning of High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems across the UK and Europe.
Whether your experience comes from National Grid, utilities, renewable energy, power plants, industrial infrastructure or EPC projects, we want to hear from you.

The Role
As a Commissioning Manager, you'll lead commissioning activities from installation through to energisation and final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest industry standards.

Working alongside clients, EPC contractors, OEMs and engineering teams, you'll provide technical leadership across every stage of the commissioning lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading HV/MV commissioning activities on major infrastructure projects
- Managing commissioning engineers, specialist vendors and subcontractors
- Planning and overseeing switching, testing and energisation activities
- Coordinating protection, control, transformer and switchgear commissioning
- Reviewing commissioning procedures, test packs and technical documentation
- Chairing commissioning meetings and managing client relationships
- Ensuring compliance with electrical safety rules, Permit-to-Work and LOTO procedures
- Delivering projects safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards

Essential Experience
- Proven HV/MV commissioning experience
- Switching and energisation activities
- Protection & Control Systems
- Transformers & Switchgear (AIS/GIS)
- Leading commissioning teams
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety rules

Qualifications
- Electrical Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or Degree
- ECS, CSCS or Safe Pass (where applicable)
