Commissioning Manager

Location: Hinkley Point C (HPC)

The Commissioning Manager at HPC is responsible for leading, planning, managing, and executing commissioning activities for high-voltage electrical transmission and substation projects. This role ensures that all electrical systems, protection and control schemes, SCADA systems, and associated equipment are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations. The Commissioning Manager provides technical leadership throughout the commissioning lifecycle, from design review and commissioning planning through energization, testing, and project handover. This is a great opportunity to be part of an amazing project delivering a complex scope at Hinkley Point C Construction Project.


What will you do?

  • Develop and implement commissioning strategies, procedures, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Lead commissioning activities for transmission systems and substations ranging from distribution voltages up to EHV/UHV installations.
  • Manage pre-commissioning, cold commissioning, hot commissioning, energization, and system integration activities.
  • Coordinate commissioning interfaces between engineering, construction, operations, and client teams.
  • Ensure all commissioning works are completed in accordance with project schedules and contractual requirements.

Experience Required

  • Experience in a commissioning leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience delivering HV, EHV, or UHV transmission and substation projects.
  • Experience in electrical transmission and substation projects.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent preferred.
