VP Commissioning - Client Side
Data Centre Sector - Norway
Salary up to €225,000 + Bonus + Overseas Package
Clear. are working with a leading Data Centre developer across the Nordics. The business is looking to appoint a VP of Commissioning to take overall ownership of commissioning strategy, governance and delivery across its growing data centre portfolio.
This is a client-side leadership position, responsible for establishing and maintaining commissioning standards across the organisation and ensuring projects are commissioned safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.
The successful candidate will operate at a senior executive level, working closely with development, design, construction, operations and executive leadership teams across multiple major projects.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall commissioning strategy across the company's data centre portfolio.
- Establish and maintain commissioning standards, processes, governance and best practice.
- Provide senior leadership and oversight across all commissioning activities from design through to operational handover.
- Lead and develop commissioning teams across multiple projects and locations.
- Work closely with Design, Construction, Engineering, Operations and Project Delivery leadership.
- Provide technical oversight of commissioning programmes, methodologies and execution.
- Ensure commissioning activities align with project requirements, programme milestones and operational readiness.
- Review and challenge commissioning plans, procedures, schedules and methodologies.
- Oversee the appointment and performance of commissioning partners, contractors and specialist consultants.
- Establish consistent reporting, KPI frameworks and commissioning governance across the portfolio.
- Identify commissioning risks and implement mitigation strategies at an early stage.
- Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across projects.
- Ensure effective transition from construction and commissioning into operational teams.
- Support project teams during critical commissioning and integrated systems testing phases.
- Represent commissioning at senior leadership and executive-level meetings.
- Help shape the organisation's long-term commissioning capability as the portfolio continues to expand.

- Extensive commissioning experience within hyperscale, colocation or large-scale data centre environments.
- Significant experience operating in a client-side / owner / developer environment, or in a senior leadership position with a major contractor or commissioning organisation.
- Experience leading commissioning across multiple large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and integrated systems commissioning.
- Experience developing commissioning strategies, standards and governance frameworks.
- Proven senior stakeholder and executive-level communication skills.
- Experience managing and developing large, geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- The ability to challenge project teams, contractors and consultants effectively while maintaining strong relationships.
- A strong understanding of operational readiness, IST and handover within mission-critical environments.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
