Role Description
The Commissioning Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities for building services and related systems. This on-site role, based in London, involves managing commissioning schedules, supervising testing and validation procedures, and ensuring all systems meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements. The Commissioning Manager will work closely with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to review drawings and specifications, identify commissioning requirements, and resolve technical issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include documenting commissioning processes, preparing progress reports, tracking defects and remedial works, and ensuring handover documentation is complete and accurate. This role also entails monitoring quality standards, supporting risk assessments, and contributing to continuous improvement of commissioning methodologies.

- Strong technical expertise in building services engineering, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, with practical experience in commissioning complex projects.
- Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans, and in developing project-specific commissioning strategies.
- Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure aligned project delivery.
- Ability to produce clear commissioning documentation, reports, test scripts, and handover materials, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant UK building regulations, industry standards, health and safety requirements, and best practices in commissioning management.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines in a site-based environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the capability to present findings, explain technical issues, and support decision-making.
- Relevant degree or qualification in building services engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, or a related discipline; professional certifications in commissioning are an advantage.
- Previous experience in commissioning management within commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects in the UK is highly beneficial.
